Pfitscher Winery
The first climate house winery in Italy focuses on the essential.
Clear the stage for the main actors, the landscape and the wine! This is the motto of the new winery building amidst vineyards in Montagna, which was constructed in the village centre instead of the former wine farm in 2011.
In cooperation with architect German Gabalin, a terraced new building with straight shapes and a black façade was realised. This conscious simplicity lets the unique hillside location amidst vineyards step to the fore. The cellar was placed below ground, while from the tasting room with a large glass front visitors enjoy a breath-taking view.
The winery is also the home of the wine growing family. They live on the upper floor of the new building. Thanks to the sustainable and ecological construction method, the Pfitscher building is the first climate house certified winery in Italy.
