The South Tyrol Wine Museum
The South Tyrol Wine Museum can offer you more than a good glass of wine!
In this impressive museum, which is located right in the middle of Kaltern, visitors have the opportunity to approach various aspects related to wine history and culture, with particular regard to those of the South-Tyrol region.
Numerous tools used in the local winegrowing, those used by coopers in making barrels, as well as various kinds of containers made of wood or glass, are displayed in the museum area. Extremely interesting are also the equipments formerly used as winepresses.
On request, it is also possibile to organize some wine tastings in the typical museum cellars. In the adjacent vineyard you can find the old species of vine and at vintage time you are allowed to taste their superb, juicy grapes.
