Sports and Leisure
Mountains and lakes provide the ideal setting for many sports. Visitors can also explore South Tyrol on horseback or by bike. Or if being a spectator is more your style, there are plenty of opportunities to watsch from the sidelines.
For golfers, there are three beautiful golf courses nearby: the 18-hole golf course in Petersberg near Aldein; the 9-hole course "Gutshof Brandis" in Lana and another 18-hole golf course at "Dolomiti Golf Club" in Sarnonico (TN), about 8km past the Mendel Pass.
Most villages and towns have their own tennis courts, sometimes also in individual hotels.

Anglers can enjoy themseves at the Lake Kaltern, the Lake Montiggl, the Lake Fennberg and the "Grosser Graben" in the Low Lands, as well as in some of the tributaries of the River Etsch. A fishing licence is necessary, including a daily pass.

Paragliding with tandem flights is offered in Kaltern, at the Mendel Pass, and in Terlan.
South Tyrol is the El Dorado for climbing fans, with many outdoor and indoor climbing opportunities, including: the "Marderwand" climbing garden between Kurtatsch and Graun; the "Unterlegstein" climbing garden in Fennhals; climbing halls in Eppan and Tramin; and the climbing wall in the Montiggl forest.
