Water, Sun, Sports...

Montiggler See mit Freischwimmbad

The South Tyrolean Wine Road offers endless opportunities to splash about in the cobalt blue and moss green lakes, rest in quiet spots or enjoy a refreshing swim on a hot day.

Enjoying a sporty and adventurous holiday with lots of fun is certainly possible at the bathing lakes at the South Tyrolean Wine Road. Lake Kaltern is especially suited for sailing and surfing. Once the right breeze turns up, white flapping sails reign on the blue water surface.

For many, however, holidaying is not connected to sporting activities, but simply to relaxation. Lazing about, relaxing and enjoying the day! It's real delight with wonderful surroundings.
The atmosphere is truly unique. Here you can charge your batteries with sun and energy for the rest of the year to come.

Pools and Lakes...

Tramin's Sport & Adventure Pool

Adventure pools not only draw kids under their spell. Tramin's Sports and Adventure Pool with a water surface of 1,300 square metres fascinates everyone.
Climbing rocks and waterfalls, a whirlpool and numerous other fun things guarantee an exciting and refreshing change.

The new lakeside Pool

The new lakeside pool at Kaltern is divided into two levels: the upper sun deck, where you find the swimming pools and lounge chairs and the lower lying so-called ‘aquarium' level, with dressing rooms, restrooms, restaurants and cafés. Glass panels provide an underground view into the pool- therefore the name, ‘aquarium'.
The elevated sun deck provides a wonderful view out over the lake.

Public pools

Public outdoor pools offer also Terlan, Andrian, Salurn, Neumarkt, Auer and Bolzano.

Lake Montiggl

The new adventure pool at the Large Lake Montiggl has a long slide, as well as other highlights of the superlative on offer.

Lake Kaltern

The Lake Kaltern is one of the warmest bathing lakes in the Alpine area. Water temperatures up to 26 degrees Celsius are not a rarity during the summer.
The bathing season already begins in mid May and ends around mid October.

Rowing or pedal boat?

The lakes can also be explored by rowing or pedal boat. There are several hire shops. It is great fun for adults and kids to paddle on the lake, and especially romantic if undertaken at dusk.

Anglers

Anglers also get their money's worth.
Besides Lake Kaltern and the Montiggl Lakes, fishing is also possible in Lake Fennberg, which are at a higher altitude. Fishing is also permitted at the tributaries of the river Etsch.
