Ochsenreiter Anton, Steinhauserhof
The vineyard Steinhauserhof is a family run company managed by Anton Ochsenreiter, his wife Sigrid and their daughters Silke and Heidi. We mostly take care of all the phases regarding the production. Our aim is to produce wines with character, in which body and soul melt together. Wines that satisfy for their ancestry and their aroma.
The Steinhauserhof is situated above Salorno village, at 500-550 m of height. It ist he operative centre of the firm, where all the phases of grape processing are performed, till noble wines are obtained.
Around Steinhauserhof the graperies grow in 7 hectares of clay-terrains,formed by erosion. We cultivate grapes for Pinot Nero (35%), Sauvignon Blanc (20%), Gewürztraminer (15%), Chardonnay (20%), Müller Thurgau (10%). We use only the grapes we cultivate. The new vineyards with guyot system (loom in metallic thread) permit to obtain the desired quality (60- 100 q/ hectare). Thanks to the correct choice of vines, the ideal exposure with high temperatures at days and fresh at nights, the excellent care and love for cultivation, the wines gather a strong aroma, particular mineral notes, structure, elegance and individuality.
