Terlano

Excellent wines are not far away in a place where the best asparagus in the region grows. A tip for connoisseurs.

Close to the capital of Bolzano, surrounded by vineyards and orchards, the Neuhaus Ruin above it, Terlano has a very good reputation amongst connoisseurs. One of the reasons for the good reputation is the Terlano Winery, which was founded in 1893, and is now one of the leading Winery Associations in Alto Adige.

During a hike along the Terlano Wine Trail, the show boards inform visitors about the long and successful wine history of the village.

However, Terlano is not only a highly appreciated wine growing area, which grows white wines on about 124 hectares and red wines on 56 hectares. Together with its harbours Vilpiano and Settequerce, it forms the so-called Asparagus Triangle. The sandy clay soils are ideal for growing this seasonal delicacy, which is served in the guesthouses in Terlano from April to May.
