Small, but of importance. Wines from all over the world are stored here and the local expert school trains the future wine growers.
This area of the Alto Adige Wine Road is mainly known amongst cyclists: The Adige cycling trail leads along Vadena and across the Kreither Saddle, where you follow the traces of the Via Claudia Augusta to Caldaro Lake. Nature experiences await you in the landscape characterised by orchards and vineyards where red and white wines mature.
The ruins of the Leuchtenburg and Laimburg castles throne over the charming village with 1,000 inhabitants. Laimburg Castle lent its name to the local Regional School for Fruit & Wine Growing and Gardening. Furthermore, the wines of the most important wine growing regions of the world are stored here: the impressive Felsenkeller cellar features a natural constant room temperature and therefore provides the ideal storing location for noble wines.
